the Drama

This is absolutely my favourite picture in your gallery.

The black and white is an absolutely perfect choice. It absolutely brings out the drama in that beautiful classic retro makeup. That makeup is faultless. The intense expression and pose all add to the effect. The painted nails are another detail which work perfectly into the theme. However, I think with that severe, strong expression she has, I think it would have been 'in character' to have them longer. But that's personal opinion.

The lighting is just divine. The angle of it and contrast are absolutely divine.

The only criticism I have is on the focus. While I adore the fact that the image is focussed almost entirely on the face, with the rest of the image blurred out, I can't help but feel the blurring is too intense in places. Perhaps it could be just a little bit sharper on the hand and arm in the foreground (but still out of focus to keep the effect) just to balance the image out a little more.

Another aspect about this image I adore is the fact that it isn't pure white. The grey makes it so soft.

This is an absolutely divine image. It has this beautiful retro charm to it that absolutely draws you in and captures your attention. Wonderful work.
