I really like the grain in the white parts. The total black background really makes you stand out. If the black background contained a grain the effect wouldn't be as good.

The modest but brilliant composition of this picture makes it beautiful in its simplicity. Less is more and less is beautiful. One more thing about minimalism, it only works when you have something non-minimalistic to compare it to and since your gallery have a wide range of different selfportaits and photos this one really stands out.

The only thing I could possibly miss about this picture is a concept, poem or something that would give it an other dimension. The title makes me think about sleep (rapid eye movement) and dreams but something more would really make this a piece of art. Your photos stands on the brink of amazing but try to give your photos a greater meaning than just "you can like my photography on facebook" You have an amazing face and are a talented photographer, I would love to see a little more concept and vision to your art. Like "The cold from the still warm body". That one has a poetic title and its one of your best. It has that third dimension that really takes it to a whole new level [link]

BTW, If this was a vinyl record I would so buy it.

Well done. Brings much emotion out and speaks volumes. Imperfectly perfect in many ways. By far a favorite of mine. I really enjoy the hair strands going across the face. It adds a certain artistic value to the shot and gives it a paint feel. I really enjoy the grainy feeling and the contrast. Personally, the only thing that I take issue with is at the top of the head, the little bump of hair. I would have cleaned it up a little bit to give it a little more flow over the top of the head. All in all, it is a wonderful picture and you should be quite proud of it. Thanks for sharing
