So I am neither an artist nor any sort of professional critic, but I love this shot so here goes....
I'll start with what I first noticed. Color. The shock of color in her hair, balanced by her eyes, earrings, and the tips of her nails. It brings a vibrancy to the entire image. I love how the hair reaches down to just touch the corner of her right eye, lending a connection there. I didn't catch that at first, but I love the effect.
Next, her eyes and her expression. Yes, a picture can say a thousand words, but many really only get as far as a comment or two. She speaks volumes in a simple glance. There is thinking going on there, and intelligence, both framed in a single moment in time. The angle of the shot, too, adds to the overall effect. She is looking up from below, but not in a position of weakness. It is a probing, searching look, not one of submission that might be suggested by looking down on her. It is decidedly a picture of confidence and composure, and it completes her beauty.
The pose is certainly sensual, but honestly it was one of the last things I noticed. The bit of foam on her upper lip, along with the effect of the mug itself, is inviting to say the least, but I was sold on the shot long before I even noticed that.
So there are four categories that I see here to rate this artwork. Being essentially a headshot I'm not sure how original it is, but it's impact for me was off the charts.
I hope this review was helpful, and I will definitely be looking at more of your work.
